Edumon
Edumon: The Archivist's Journey

An adventure game where students win battles by answering questions.

Your student plays an Archivist traveling across a big story world, meeting its people and asking wild Edumon to join the team. Every attack in a battle comes with a question from school subjects, so the student who studies wins more fights.

How it plays

Studying is how you get stronger.

Most of the game is a regular role-playing adventure. The learning happens in battles and in the journal students keep along the way.

Answer to attack

When a student picks an attack, a multiple-choice question comes up first. A right answer means the attack hits. After a wrong one, the attack misses, the correct answer is shown with a short explanation, and that question comes back in a later battle.

Study to grow the team

Fourteen Edumon will only travel with a player who has studied the words or facts of their region. Fifteen more don't show up in the wild until the player has done enough studying overall.

Help for English learners

About 1,600 of the questions were written for multilingual learners, at four levels from beginner to advanced. They cover vocabulary, grammar, idioms, verbs, prepositions and words with more than one meaning.

Who it's for

For homeschool families and classrooms

At home

Edumon comes with Trailpost Plus. A parent signs in at trailposteducation.com, and each student gets a name, a grade and a four-digit PIN instead of an account.

The same membership includes every Trailpost math and science lesson for grades 6 and up.

In a classroom

Students play in a web browser, so Chromebooks work and there's nothing to install. On a filtered school network, only edumongame.com needs to be allowed.

Teachers can choose subjects and difficulty or load their own questions. The Teacher Hub has worksheets, exit tickets and station cards to print.

For a whole school

School licenses are priced by quote. Tell us your school's name and about how many devices you'll use, and we'll reply with a price and a trial key.

Safe for school

Students never need an email address.

A nickname is enough for their character. The Edumon and the story were reviewed for classroom use, and this site has no ads or trackers.

Saves stay in the web browser on each device. Our privacy policy explains exactly what the game stores.

Questions

Common questions

What subjects are in the questions?

Math, science, earth and space science, reading, social studies and geography, plus the set for English learners. Each question is marked easy, medium or advanced, and teachers can turn subjects and levels on or off.

What do we need to play?

A recent version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Chromebooks are fine. School networks with a filter only need to allow edumongame.com.

Does progress save?

Yes. Students save from the game menu, and the save is kept in that browser on that device, so each student should stick to the same device and browser.

Clearing the browser's site data for edumongame.com deletes the save. With a school license key, it also removes the key from that device, and entering it again counts as another device on the license.

Can we add our own questions?

Yes. Question packs can be built in the Teacher Hub or loaded from a file through the Question Packs menu in the game.

Is there a guide for teachers?

Yes. The teacher setup guide covers getting access, sharing the game with a class, school network settings and device limits.

Can I try it before paying?

The free demo lets you play through the first town without signing in. Trailpost Plus is also month to month, so you can try one month and cancel. Schools can ask us for a trial key.

Who makes Edumon?

Trailpost, a small education company. The game is built on the open-source Tuxemon engine, and the credits page lists the artists and projects it draws on.
