Edumon is made by Trailpost Education for classrooms and homeschool families, and many players are children. We collect as little as we can, we never sell it, and we never use it for advertising. This page covers the game at edumongame.com. If you play through Trailpost Plus, the Trailpost Privacy Policy also applies, and it explains what Plus stores about each student.
The game never asks players for an email address, a photo, a location, or contacts. There is no chat or messaging. We use no advertising networks and no third-party analytics trackers.
Players type a name for their character. It is saved with the game. In Friend Battle, the other player sees that character name and the creatures on the team, and nothing else. A game name or nickname works just as well as a real name, and we suggest one.
On Trailpost Plus, the adult who holds the account adds each student with a name, a grade, and a PIN. A nickname or initials are fine: you don't need to enter a child's real name unless you want to.
When a license key is entered, the browser sends the key and a randomly generated device code to our license server, which checks the key and counts devices on the plan. The device code is a random string that can't identify a player.
Teachers and parents can sign in to the Teacher Hub with an email address. We use it to send a one-time sign-in link and to keep Hub settings, such as a linked license key and question packs you write. Students can't create Hub accounts.
Cloudflare hosts this site and the license server. GitHub (pygame-web.github.io) serves the files the game engine needs, and some pages load fonts from Google Fonts. These services receive ordinary technical details, such as IP addresses, as any website does. We don't use them to identify players. Purchases are handled by Shopify, under its own privacy policy; we never see card details.
Edumon is meant for students, including children under 13. We use what we hold only to run the game. Parents can ask to see, correct, or delete their child's information at any time, and teachers can do the same for their class. Email [email protected]. We delete Trailpost Plus student information within 90 days after the membership ends, and we will sign a standard student data privacy agreement when a school or district asks.
